This is an historical moment for this silver state PERAK where for the first time an International Championship has been organizes here with such grand colorful atmosphere and gathering and by judging tonight's attendance and the supports given by the dancing fraternity this championship are bound to be an annual event in the Perak tourism yearly calender. |

The Crystal DanceSport Championships is a bi-yearly event, with the exceptino of this year's 2004 Championships, convened with the sole purpose to encourage social dancers, to take up dancing as a competitive sport. This event was held at the Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur in October 2004. |

This event was held on 17th August 2003 (Sunday) at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur in aid of the Selangor King George V Jubilee Home for the Old Age. Competitors came from the Asia Pacific region. The highlight of the evening was the demonstration by Melvyn and Nancy Low from Singapore – 13 times SEA Professional Modern champions – as well as a wheelchair demonstration dance.    |
2001 Crystal Dancesport Championships |

The first Crystal Dancesport Championships organized by the World Dance Academy was held on 22nd September 2001 (Saturday) at the Hotel Istana, Kuala Lumpur. The championships was participated by international competitors, both in the Modern and Latin category from the Asia Pacific countries, namely China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, the Philippines and the host country, Malaysia.
The championships also featured guest performance by the 2001 Blackpool Latin Champion – the outstanding Jukka Haapalainen and Sirpa Suutari from Finland. Part of the proceeds raised at the championships was pledged to the Majudiri Y Foundation for the deaf and Bethany Homes for the epileptic children. |
